Poetry For You

Choose a site from the list below.  Read at least five poems.  Choose on you like the best to print out.  Decide how to read the poem with a partner or team.

Practice.  Try to make the poem come alive for your audience.

Remember the procedures for using the Internet:

1. Follow the directions for the task.

2. Click on links that help you complete the task (ignore ads, banners, embedded ads, pop-ups, pop-outs, etc.).

3. Ignore ads, banners, embedded ads, pop-ups, pop-outs, etc. (see rule 2).

4. If something displays that is inappropriate, let your teacher know. S/he will help you back out of it.

5. Use cooperative learning standards.

6. When finished with the task, return to your desk area to write or complete another assigned task.

Remember the procedures for team computer use:

Each team member chooses a role:

Reader: reads the task and screen

Composer: inputs keyboard with team decisions

Clicker (alias Mickey): moves mouse with team decisions

Reflecter: takes notes/writes assignment

While working on the computer, use Cooperative Learning Standards:

Use active listening skills--look at visual; listen to speaker; keep mouth silent; sit alert; keep body managed in own space.

Use encouraging words.

Participate actively in the task.

Explain ideas and give reasons why.

Complete tasks in a timely manner.
